Use of artificial intelligence

In force from 6 August 2026.

The office uses artificial intelligence, and says so openly. It uses it for the work a machine does better than a person, and keeps it away from the work where it does not. This page exists so you know where the line runs.

01Where it is used

  • paperwork, checks, keeping track of deadlines and versions,
  • preparing and tidying the texts on this site,
  • translation into English,
  • searching regulations and technical literature, always verified at the source.

02Where it is not used

  • Designing. Every decision about your house, from where it sits on the plot to how the rooms are arranged, is human and mine.
  • The questionnaire findings. I read your answers myself and write the findings myself. That is why they take a few days rather than a second.
  • Scoring the questionnaire. It is calculated in your own browser by rules written in advance. There is no model involved, nothing learns from your answers, and no automatic verdict is passed on your home.

03Who is answerable for what is written

Marko Jambrek, licensed architect, Croatian Chamber of Architects, registration no. 4557. I review and approve every public text of the office before publication and have the final say over what appears and what does not. Contact: marko@merkart.hr.

This is why the text here carries no artificial intelligence label. Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence, Article 50, asks for either such a label or genuine editorial control with a named responsible person. The office chose the second, because it is the truer of the two: the text has passed through a person who answers for it by name.

That claim holds only as long as it is true. If I ever stop genuinely reading before publication, the right move is to bring the label back, not to keep a sentence that no longer describes what happens.

04Images

This site currently carries no generated images. Should any appear, they will be illustrative, and visibly so: drawn rather than photographed. If a scene is ever shown that could pass for a photograph of a real place or person, it will be labelled as generated, next to the image itself.

05Your data and models

Your answers and contact details are not used to train models and are not entered into chat tools. They stay in the office's mail and in the record on the server, as described in the privacy policy.
